“Do not think that I have come to bring peace on the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword [of division between belief and unbelief].
Matthew 10:34

God is the center of Self Care

What do you consider self care? Sleeping in? Silencing all devices to avoid interruptions? Movie day? A trip to the park? Reading a book on the porch while the sun hits your skin? Maybe even working out & cleaning your house from a busy week. Whatever it maybe, don’t forget God. We so often want to replenish our spirits with fleshly appetites. Eating, working out, sleeping in etc. We seem to forget that God is the burden barer. He said to cast all of our cares on him for he cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).

2 Peter 1:3-4 shows us that God has given us all we need to maintain our lives in Christ, even down to worldly needs. When you have the power of Christ, he will show you how to overcome but we must do our part. We must run into our safety through prayer, reading the word and most of all, WORSHIP! I bring much enthusiasm to worship because it confuses the enemy. Worship breaks the yolk and puts your focus on the one who can: Abba Father. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. (Hebrews 13:15).

Everything we do should be in reverence to God. The worlds way is not Gods way. We are in the world but not of it says the Lord (1 John 2:15-17). Starting and ending your day with God is crucial. Give no room to the devil, resist him and he shall flee (James 4:7).

Self care is knowing whom you should abide in. Who upholds you, who is there when nobody, not even yourself understands how you feel. God does. God sees us and loves us. The devil wants to fight us and bring us to nothing because he knows it will hurt God. Knowing that, why would you want to hurt the very one who wants to make sure you’re okay? Do yourself and God a favor, abide in him. Call on him, pray to him, sing to him, cry to him, spend your self care days with him. He will replenish you and build up what he put in you. That is what we should nurture; the part of us the devil can’t take away. Our Joy! Notice I didn’t say happiness, that fluctuates but even when you are dealing with all types of craziness, the Joy of the lord will be your strength. (Nehemiah 8:10). Onlookers will look at your baffled because they are aware of the issues but yet, you have a smile on your face & you’re still pressing towards the mark.

Don’t give up! Don’t give in! God is there, but will you invite him in to uphold you? Will you cast your cares on the one who can?

I can attest I didn’t, and I felt miserable but now that I understand from wince my help comes from, get thee behind me Satan’ I’m a child of the King! I’m fearfully & wonderfully made & YOU have got to go! Exit left, please and thank you!

Furthermore, I ask again, What do you consider self care? Do you believe God will meet all of your needs even when you need to be replenished? I stand from experience to tell you, yes he will. He’s just waiting for you to invite him in so he can take what he never meant to be a burden to you in the first place. God loves you and he wants to show you today.
