Health Tip Tuesday: How To Maintain Weight Loss

The key to maintaining your weight loss is mind over matter if you will. Your desire for the end product has to be greater than what you see. You have to break your old habits in order to presently create new habits to birth your future self.

Galations 5:17 (NLV)

17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.

Being consistent everyday leads to the body you desire. Weight loss isn’t a pill, a surgery or a slim shake that will magically curate weight loss. Changing your habits, sticking to your plan and showing up for yourself daily is going to create the habits that will provide you the results your future self is waiting to come forth in.

One habit I’m learning to implement is intermittent fasting. The body needs a break and will be just fine without food for a day or 2. God speaks on fasting and prayer as tools in a believers life. Fasting breaks the flesh, which wars against the spirit. Galations says so. If you struggle with food, gluttony or emotional eating pray to God and ask him to help you. I can almost guarantee you’ll be told to fast because in denouncing your desires, you’ll hear Gods desires which is truly what your future self wants anyway: to become the person you dream of. Some days will be low but faint not. Keep on track, don’t turn back! Your future self is counting on you.

Isaiah 40:28-31

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
