Many little girls and adult women have been groomed to be wives. Many are given over involuntary and many want to be married but can’t seem to be joined in Holy matrimony. Are we really ready to be wives? Are you truly ready for marriage?
Do you know why God created marriage? The purpose of a godly union? Is it to have good sex without committing fornication? Is it to have someone to split the bills with and fulfill holes from our past to make us whole? Is it to have children and birth generations to come?
Before marriage we are connected to our fathers. Fathers are to give the identity, cultivate and build us up to be the women God called us to be. Unfortunately, that’s not my story nor many of the women in todays time. A lot of us have grown up without fathers, protection and guidance from a man. In retrospect we have experienced the opposite in our relationships. Leaving us with one sided views from our mothers. Now, don’t get me wrong, mothers are equally as important as fathers but each parent has a key role in the wholeness of a person. Our parents are to lead us to God, we build a relationship with God ourselves and then we repeat when we have children. (Proverbs 22:6). That’s how we are to be fruitful and multiply Gods will for his people, the earth and future generations.
God is the first, true husbandmen. Christ commanded for husbands to love their wives like Christ also loved the Church by giving himself for it. (Ephesians 5:25) There is a parable of 10 virgins in Matthew 25, and 5 of them were not prepared & missed an opportunity. Have you allowed God to husbandmen you my beloved?
By definition a husbandmen is to plow or cultivate the land.
Plow by definition is a large farming implement with one or more blades fixed in a frame, drawn by a tractor or by animals and used for cutting furrows in the soil and turning it over, especially to prepare for the planting of seeds.
In verb tense it means to turn up the earth of (an area of land) with a plow, especially before sowing. A synonym of plow is cultivate.
As individuals God cultivates us on our journeys. He teaches, trains and prepares us for what he instilled in us to fulfill our purpose; which is to carry out his plan of repentance through spirit & truth to the four corners of the earth.
What did God command for women?
1 Peter 3:1-8 NLV says, In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over by observing your pure and reverent lives. Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They put their trust in God and accepted the authority of their husbands. For instance, Sarah obeyed her husband, Abraham, and called him her master. You are her daughters when you do what is right without fear of what your husbands might do.
In today’s society a great amount of responsibility is placed on the man. As it should but not in the sense of a man being the all be all because God has called them to lead but not to be higher than God himself. In today’s society there are a lot of Christian marriages that are ungodly. God seeks to be the center of our individual lives and once we are married, the head of the union. Kingdom marriages hold a value far above living together, managing a wealthy business or even raising children. God said in his word, when two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst (Matthew 18:20). When God sends his laborers, he sends them by twos. They are never alone. The journey to get to know who God is must be taken alone but when it’s time to spread the gospel, we never do it alone. In the Jewish tradition two witnesses are needed to convict of a crime. Credibility wise, two witnesses are better than one. More ground is covered, more seeds are planted and more lives can be touched to turn hearts to true repentance.
Spiritually, God is the head of every believers life or should be. God is a lord. Lords have authority, the final say & what they say, goes.
I’m beginning to truly understand the importance of comprehension. Reading is fundamental, but if you aren’t able to apply what you are reading into perspective or even apply context to it, have you truly understood the context in which it was written? So, take the word cultivate for an example. By definition, cultivate is to prepare and use (land) for crops or gardening; break up (soil) in preparation for sowing or planting.
God works to plow the heart of iniquity & programmed behavior through his word to transform our land (our lives) to mirror what Christ originally intended for us. Got intended for good on the earth. The plants, the animals and indeed for humans.
God never wants to take from us, but it’s truly necessary for him to plow the ground of your heart to plant good seeds so you may reap a godly harvest. We’ve been filled with the behavior, mindsets and programming of the devil through the worlds traditions. The mind is the heart. The mind is the final say in every humans life. We think with our mind not our physical heart. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9) Who can truly know man’s thoughts? Their true intentions for what they do, say and how they move? No one could until their actions have come to fruition.
Which is why it’s important to yield our minds to the leading of Gods hand. The flesh must be crucified and killed through fasting, prayer and the reading of Gods words. That’s the only way the spirit can come alive after years of programming in the world. If I may share a secret, that is the only way to keep your spirit alive. Everything about the world is contrary to Gods way. Satan mimics everything God does and perverts his good ways to hinder Gods people. Reference Galations 5:17.
Furthermore, in order to be joined together in a kingdom marriage, we must first be joined with Christ in marriage. God will never give you anything you desire that will overtake you. God wants us to have any and everything we want but not if it’s going to damn our soul and pull us away from his heart. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul? (Mark 8:36).
God loves marriages. Satan hates them, and proof of that is the decline in marriages around the world and the spike in “situationships”. People hate commitment, they desire love without the sacrifice component. For God so loved the world that he gave (sacrificed) his ONLY begotten son. (John 3:16). Nothing will be gained of God without sacrifice. God himself stood by his word, what makes us think we won’t? Are we higher than God? I’ll answer that for you, No!
God told man to be fruitful and multiply. (Genesis 1:28). God created all things of this world first, and all man needed and then created man. God provided all that was needed and commanded for man to dress and keep the garden. God is the provider, the husbandmen. The proper order is Christ, husband and then the wife. God even showed us he is the ultimate provider, not man. (Genesis 2:15). God doesn’t need us to do anything but obey his living word. His word always accomplishes what he set it out to do and it will never come back void. (Isaiah 55:11).
Are you able to see how Gods way is completely different than mans way? Our society has taught us as women, “I don’t need a man”. Technically by design you don’t because God created us for man, not man for us but to keep Gods word into its proper context, we need thee man, the God of all men. In being connected to the vine, we are found by our husbands as Ruth was seen in the fields gleaning. (Ruth 2:1-23). Not Ruth seeking a man at Church, or on a dating site. God truly brings his precious souls together but not until his divine time. While in the wait, God expects us to be engulfed in our calling because we have a purpose to fulfill.
There is an old African proverb that has stuck with me, the author behind it is unknown but it’s truly wise words. “If you want to go quickly, go alone, and if you want to go far, go together”. When I initially came across the saying I was being prepared for what I was petitioning God for. The Transformation of my life and to find true love. Little did I know, true love was my relationship with Christ. He’s truly been all that I need, want and didn’t know I needed or wanted. In my transformation God has been properly preparing me to be a Godly wife. A wife that will be a helpmate and not a hinderance. A wife to a husband that is after Gods heart and wanting to do the will of the father. As I fulfill my purpose in Christ, and my husband fulfills his purpose in Christ, together we bring double the glory to the almighty. The true purpose of marriage.
Galations 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
